How much do you pay for gas?

We filled up the car the other night, and it’s almost time to fill it up again! The other day I posted the photo taken with Gary’s camera phone on my brightkite account (which links up with my twitter). Later that day, Gary’s cousin in Connecticut sent me a photo of gas up there.

So how much do you pay for gas? I saw on another blog, gas in California was $4.11 for regular and I hear on NPR they were saying gas could go up to $7/gal this summer/next year! If that’s the case, time to look into the Prius Hybrid again 😀

Gas in CT – evidently they ran out of 4’s up there

~ What would you do with a billion dollars? . . . two?

Mukesh Ambani (#5 Forbes ) is building a house . . . a house named Antilla . . .
A 2 Billion dollar 27-story sky scraper, but not much if you hold a net worth of 43 billion dollars, according to Forbes magazine.

550 feet high, 4,00,000 square feet interior space and no floor is alike. There are 6 floors for parking his own collection of 168 cars, 1 floor for servicing those cars, hanging gardens, a home theater to seat 50 people, a swimming pool, a 2 story health center, and 3 helipads on top once/if they get permission to operate.

Of course for a house this size requires a staff (of 600) for him, his wife, 3 children and his mother.

You can read the rest of the details on these sites or you can do your own Google Search 🙂

Law and Order with New Detective!

Gary and I are big fans of Law and Order, and Law and Order Special Victims Unit. The original show now longer has detective Green, and it’s usually hard to get used to new people in a series which can ruin the whole show for me, but I love the new addition. Actor Anthony Anderson is great in his role as detective Kevin Bernard. I saw him originally in his role in Transformers which I loved him in, and it was also a perfect role for him.

So I Twitter-ed that I was watching Law and Order but I thought It was post-worthy and I needed a short break from a project I am working on 🙂

They still need to get a pro-photo for him for his role in Law and Order, but so far there have only been 4 episodes.
old detective green with new detective bernard

this is the best they have?

Check out more photos and about the show on the website: http://www.nbc.com/Law_&_Order/

BrightKite!

My friend Chris told me about this site called Bright Kite [http://www.brightkite.com/]. It’s pretty neat, similar to Twitter but you can “check in” to locations and places and see who else is in the same area. BrightKite allows you to post pictures and notes, and links in with Twitter, so when I post to BrightKite, it posts on my Twitter Stream.

So like twitter, it’s like mini-blogging for random personal stuff I see, feel, or hear 🙂

I’ll be off to Chicago next week! So you can see where I am by following me on my Twitter or BrightKite stream, which is also here on my blog (top right) under Sue-Leigh’s lifeStyLe updates!

What do you want to see more of?

Just out of curiosity, I’d like to know what you would like to see more of on my blog, and why do you come here?. Any suggestions of things you’d like to see more of, or if you are a first time visitor, do you come here daily, once a week, rss feed?, how did you find this blog? Do you follow me on Twitter? More updates? Blog more often?

Feel free to leave a comment as well for additional suggestions 🙂

~ Another Publishing!

I just heard today that a photo of mine will be published for a 2008/2009 release. It will been sent to the printers today and printed within the next couple of days, afterwards I will get a few copies of the finished result and it will be distributed. I don’t even know exactly which photo it is, but keep checking back. I’ll post it as soon as I get my copy!

I’ve seen a lot of red

So this week I’ve needed a lot of band-aids. I had my yearly physical on Wed. and got 3 shots, 2 in my left arm, 1 in my right. One shot I won’t have to get for another 10 years, and the other two i get the second in 2 months and the other third as well as the second of the third in 6 months.

Last night I was cleaning, kneeling on the floor and there were some sharp metal pointy sewing scissors on top of the bookshelf (which I didn’t see until they were -slow-motion) falling and landing) . . . they fell point down on my leg, above my knee . . . not a fun experience. At least they only punctured my skin twice. Alcohol, extra large bandages, and this morning I feel like someone punched me in my leg, and just after I got over the feeling of someone punching me in my arms from the shots the other day.

*sad face*
(clearly showing you that cleaning can be hazardous to your health 😉 )

Another part of my yearly physical to check cholesterol, blood cell counts, and whatever else they need to check for (blood work) requires 24 hour or so fasting – but I think I’ll wait til next week. I’ve seen enough red I can handle for now.

~ Evan and Chloe (perSonaL portraits)

This weekend, I photographed Evan and Chloe’s (perSonaL portraits) and the weather was so perfect, though a little warm in the sun 🙂

Both very photogenic, Evan is three and a half and I Love this series of photos! He is very handsome in blue:

Chloe is three months old and I thought this was so adorable! It looks like she is counting, starting at 0, 1, 2, 3!

I made this collage from one of the photos of Evan, I kind of took the idea from the Polaroid photos from first Friday art walk, though I have seen it done before in other places . . .

Baby Chloe again in her sweet little sun dress:

and I absolutely LOVE the expression on her face here! So adorable:

and a sweet family portrait (sans daddy since he doesn’t like to be in photos). Evan was getting tired towards the end of our shoot, but only because he was full of energy at the beginning!

Chris of ntune.tv (aka: daddy) took photos of me photographing Evan, Chloe, and mommy (Melissa)

great weather this weekend

We had great weather here this weekend! It was also my dad’s birthday on Friday, so since Gary was in Philly I went over on Saturday. My dad refurbished his fishing gear from when he was a kid, so we went to the lake and he was able to test out his fishing rod. He also refurbished and made some of his tackle:

Some people were catching catfish nearby and here they almost caught a huge one!
