Micah!

Micah was in town for a few days!  Actor, juggler, magician, and all around cool guy 🙂  Gary and I were leaving for the beach on Saturday and luckily Micah called on Friday!  He was in town for a few days for the holidays to see family (hometown, Hollywood California) so luckily we were able to get together for dinner at Miltons.  It’s always great to see friends for the holidays!

100 year old Cemetary

Merry Christmas to all!
Gary and I went to Atlantic beach for a few days with his parents and stayed at their condo which is right on the beach, though it was too cold to go swimming. We pretty much did nothing which was wonderful! Not having to be anywhere, do anything was great!

On the first night we were able to go to my favourite restaurant, the Channel Marker and we did go into Historic Beaufort one day and looked around at a very old hundred year cemetery which was really pretty

Birthday Gifts

Well, after meeting some people for dinner tonight, I took a couple of shots of some of the birthday gifts:

I got a whole bunch of other things from friends, but I’m either wearing them or using them 🙂 Thanks everyone for the gifts and taking me out to lunches . . . my friend Gloria is taking me out to lunch tomorrow and after work I’m going out with my friend Adrienne to celebrate my birthday!

I am so looking forward to the holiday, vacation, and spending time with the families!

My Birthday! and the month of celebrating!

So I celebrated my birthday, and I have the best friends, the best family, and the best hubby! Last Tuesday Garys parents took me out to On the Border for dinner. I got some really cute gifts and the On the Border gang sang a REALLY loud song for me.

Sunday, Gary had surprised me with a surprise birthday dinner!! Our friends Clay and Miranda called and asked if the could take me out to dinner and it turned out to be a bunch of my friends that Gary called over a few weeks when I was out on different nights. I think there were 16 or so people that were able to show up, and a few people I would have never thought could come! Tiramisu birthday cake I loved all the gifts everyone got for me and look how cute – the balloons Miranda got for me:

Monday, we celebrated with my parents and had a yummy dinner and this cute birthday cake my mom made! I had pink themed birthday gifts which were all so thoughtful and cute.

Tuesday, Gary and I went to a Thai place called Sawasdee which we had never been to before. The food was great too . . . I had panang, Gary had something called drunken noodles, and we split the spicy eggplant dish. For dessert, I had sticky rice and some sort of custard for dessert which was SO GOOD, and Gary had coconut ice cream which was not too strong.

The rice was SO CUTE!

Parties and Paintball

Today was fun and busy . . . Gary got up around 6am to get ready and go out for paintball with the guys. I went to my parent’s house and then Gary and I had two holiday parties . . . one that started at 6 and one that started at 7. I was also invited to a beach themed party which was tonight but had enough going on and it was rainy and cold so not sure how that would have worked out anyway.

So here are some photos Gary took with the point-and-shoot from today

Randomness

A lot of little things happen and I usually always have my point-and-shoot camera.  Sometimes I take one photo and then forget to look at it, so I was going through my camera and also took some photos in the past couple of weeks.  So a bit of randomness I am sharing with you 🙂

Gary’s dad gave me this really pretty arrangement from some function he had attended.

Changing the Side Button Default on the Blackberry

If you are like me and use the holster that came with your blackberry, you may find it annoying when you always accidentally hit the button on the side which is defaulted for voice dialing, and then you hear beeps and voices as it tries to figure out what you are saying to it – though you really don’t want to have any sort of conversation with it at all.

It took a while to find out where to fix that, but someone I know found it:
Options > Screen/Keyboard > Convenience Key Options
Select from a list of option s of what to change the side button to

I set it to ‘Nothing’ since I know I always touch it when I pull the phone out of the holster, but it may be useful to have it st to something else.

Fashion Shoot with Nikki

Today I had a fashion shoot with Nikki who was doing a shoot for her comp card and portfolio. We did have to stop an hour and a half in because after talking about how bad it would be to lock ones keys in the car, Nikki was talking on the phone with her husband and accidentally locked her keys in her car. So we took a 5/10minute drive to her place to pick up a spare key. It was kind of funny and a good thing we didn’t have to drive far to the shoot location 🙂

Retrieving the Recycle Bin On Windows Vista

It has now happened twice and I’m sure it will happen again. When I right click to ’empty’ my recycle bin, somehow delete recycle bin is a lot easier to click.

So here you can find out how to retrieve your bin should you delete it like I have. [Here]

  1. Right click on your desktop and, from the drop down menu, Click on the Personalize option
  2. When the Personalize window opens, Look in the left hand task pane and Click on the Change Desktop Icons link
  3. The desktop Icon Setting window will now open
  4. Under the section marked ‘Desktop Icons’ you will see a list of Icons that can be placed on the desktop
  5. One of those Icons listed in this section will be Recycle Bin
  6. Place a Check Mark in the box to the Left of the Recycle Bin option and then Press OK
  7. The recycle Bin should now be sitting once more on your desktop

And this way I can access it easily without having to google search it each time 🙂
