~ It’s a Dooney December!

WELL, Dooney and Bourke have a lot of purses I don’t like . . . mostly because they are so chunky and the zippers are so hard to open on a lot of them.  BUT I do like some of them, and I got myself the red tartan bag, which is SO Christmas-ey and SO festive, but I can only wear that bag with certain outfits since it’s a pattern.

Birthday gift #2 (also early) from my mom was Dooney that I can wear anytime, spring, summer, with Jeans.  Whee!  Its super cute too!

I love the details, especially the multi-coloured zipper

This makes me think we should all have a year of purses . . . JS January, Fendi February, Michael Kors March, etc.  haha . . . if only there were enough sales, bigger closets . . .  😛

~ Cleaning up the Address Book

There’s something special about getting a letter, a card, a well thought out package in the mail, and I have Always loved sending and receiving things by post.

Every year, I send out Christmas cards, and every year, it seems like less people do, which is fine, but my list has been narrowed down a lot over the years as well.

Like spring cleaning, I like to do a “winter cleaning” of my address book. Remove duplicates, merge couples, add random e-mails that belong to an existing contact, etc.

Well, this year I took my 900 something contacts, and got them down to 882, and I’m sure I could clean up a bit more, but good enough for now.

What I’m most happy about is my ‘Christmas Card List’ Group, which will make it easier each year to figure out how many cards I want to send out, and I can add people to that list gradually instead of going through my ever-growing contact list each year.  I can also look through the much smaller list and weed out people that we don’t keep in touch with as much.

Our Christmas cards should be in the mail towards the end of the week, so check your mailboxes for a lil’ piece of cheer and happy from us!

~ Birthday Gift #1

Like Christmas, Birthday gifts seldom wait until the actual day . . . which is fine with me .  I am more than fine with having a Birthday extended weekend, Birthday week, Birthday Month.  December is a full month of celebration anyway 🙂

I got my first Birthday gift from Gary last week.
“He went to Jared” . . . “he went to Jared!?”  haha, yes that’s what I said, and that’s what my friend Adrienne said -lol

It’s not a piece I would have picked out for myself, but the more I look at it, the more i like it – and blue goes with my daily wardrobe of jeans 😀

~ Funny Memory I Had

So today I remembered something from when I was in 3rd grade . . . don’t ask me what made me think of it, but during a bathroom break in school, there was one toilet that was broken, and on a continuous flush cycle.  Valentine (pronounced Valenteen) said “I’m going to try using it” and she proceeded to . . . well . . . use it.  After she finished, and came out – the other girls I was with and I asked “so how was it?”  Valentine said in a cheerful and exact tone “it was very wet.

HAHAHA, thanks for the funny memory Valentine.  Hopefully you’re out there keeping life exciting 😛

~ Rashes on Hamsters Might Require Athlete’s Foot Cream

Yes, you read that correctly the first time. No double take needed.

So my roborovski dwarf hamster had this rash starting behind his right ear, was very red, and the hair started thinning out – a lot actually.

So one of the guys at Banfield vet hospital at Petsmart said there were indeed small animal vets that may be around $40 to $60 for the office visit -or- we could try some athlete’s foot cream and see if he had ringworm.

I love my little guy, but between $60 or $5? I went to walmart and got the store brand cream. If it didn’t work out, then I’d worry about a small animal vet visit.

Every other day I took a plastic spoon, put the cream on the tip, and chased Pixel around his house, which was -er, um, exciting -_-

But, I am happy to report that Pixels hair has grown back and back to normal.

SO, if you have a hamster with a rash, you might want to try the athletes foot cream. I only have one hamster, and I keep his house clean, but evidently they can get ringworm even before you bring them home, or it might be genetic.

~ Ack!

It’s so hard to throw things away.  Even sending things to the recycle bin on the computer is hard, but must be done every once in a while.  It is good practice to have everything backed up in ATLEAST two places.

It is also best to do this at the time of creation or download, depending on what it is.

Photos are a MUST to back up in a few places, which of course I do.  But even with that said, it’s still hard to delete them off the hard drive . . . as you can tell from the screen shot here 😛
