* I’m Eating Pocorn!

I know, I know, the last post has been about paperclips. Mostly because I’m either working or playing Aion at the computer, so I don’t blog much . . . Maybe I should vlog? Though that seems just as time intensive if not more.

Um, ok . . . Yay for popcorn!

* Fun, Not Boring Paper Clips!

Black paper clamps, clips, whatever they’re called have been around forever it seems, but now they’re fun and colourful!

At Staples, they have a mix and match bin where you can get a variety of office/desk goodies in a small, medium, or large container. I just picked out these . . . I’m sure there are other pretties and pre-packaged containers out there too!

Nown we can embellish our paperwork 🙂

~ Congratulations Kelly and Todd!

Two baby news-es in the same day!  Last week we found out on the same day that two sets of friends were expecting boys.

Our friends Kelly ad Todd are expecting their first!

Originally I was going to go with a bear themed card, which led me to think of winnie the pooh, but I remembered Kelly liked tigger better.  SO I went with the “Congratulations on your soon to be bouncing baby boy” theme.

I will say that I will never make a tigger card again.  Ok, ok, I say that now . . . we’ll see.  This required my drawing a tigger head with a sharpie, and cutting out all of the parts in individual colours, and fitting them together while not having all the tools I need, running out of tape, etc. but it looks super cute, I think.

~ Congratulations Erich and Stephanie

We found out last week, that our friends are expecting their second child.  This time a baby boy.

Gary was the one that found out actually, I was at the store – so I made them a congratulations card.

Friends and family of the couple know that Stephanie is a fan of giraffes.  I think they own almost every single child themed giraffe item available (with the exception of a life sized version), so I themed the baby card around giraffes.

The pattern on the front of the card is taken from an actual giraffe for authenticity.  I’m sure he/she wouldn’t mind 🙂

~ Happy Birthday Aunt Sherry

Birthday shout out time, and it’s my aunt’s today.

I went with a stencil floral and butterfly theme. Originally I was going to make flower petals and assemble a large flower of some sort like a sunflower or a daisy, but when I cut out this rose/gardenia like flower, I actually liked the negative over the positive.

~ Happy St. Patricks Day!

Saint Patrick’s Day (Irish: Lá Fhéile Pádraig) is an annual feast day that celebrates Saint Patrick (circa AD 387–493), the most commonly recognized of the patron saints of Ireland, and is generally celebrated on 17 March. -wikipedia.com

I made one St. Patrick’s Day card for our friends who are Irish . . . now I want to go to Tir na nog! 🙂

~ Lady Bugs!

Did you survive today with one less hour of sleep?  Daylight savings time usually throws me off a bit, and it didn’t help that I fell asleep and took a couple hour nap on Sunday, but the time is now midnight-ish and I am ready for bed.

I did make these adorable lady bugs today.  Fairly easy . . . red ovals with slits cut out, the head and body attached to each other on one piece of black paper, circles of varying sizes for the backs, and some metal rhinestone like pieces for the eyes.  I was going to make antenna’s but didn’t want them to get damaged or ripped when someone pulled it out of the envelope.

I haven’t sent them to anyone yet . . . they are in my box dedicated for cards to be sent to people “just because” so I thought I’d post them since they’re so cute and cheery 🙂

~ Happy Birthday Pepe!

Well, Pepe doesn’t have a computer or internet, but it is his birthday anyway and I made him this card, so he should have it by now or soon.  He likes baseball, and especially the Boston Red Sox, so I incorporated that in his card this year!

um . . . for those of you who don’t know, the front of the card is a baseball diamond . . . (I had to research it and verify it was authentic 😛 )

~ The Perfect Craft Cart

SO, I’ve been working on projects and such and needed a space to store certain things.  I went on an internet and in store search for something with the features I needed.

I looked at office supplies, tupperware storage, bookshelves, to rolling furniture, and eventually found what I wanted when I was in Target.  I like searching for things that work and are not always what they are intended for.

This kitchen cart is exactly what I needed.
Apparently Gary wasn’t thrilled with the very poor directions and small graphics but it’s put together and even more perfect than I was expecting.

I have my tools and supplies in the drawer in clear boxes that are actually clear photo storage boxes that I picked up from Michaels.

The top shelf is a wine rack, but fits 12×12 books of paper PERFECTLY.

The wire basket I have larger tools, small boxes of things, ribbon if I had it, and other stuff . . . it would have my sticker maker if I could find it.

The bottom shelf I have my boxes of paper scraps and individual sheets in the clear box that I got on sale at Michaels, and stickers, embellishments, and such in the pink box that I picked up at Archiver’s.

Here’s a side view, though I have since added more to the cart so its not as empty as this photo shows.  I love the rolling wheels and the size and distance of the shelves.  Definitely perfect for what I needed.
