~ Friends with Talent

If you have seen me in the past week or so, and many of you haven’t, sorry for the yawning!  A lot has been going on and not enough sleeping on my part has been happening.  I was able to see a friend of mine was playing at the Pour House the other day though, which was so awesome.  It’s so awesome to see or hear a friend’s talent and show up to support them . . . happy march!

~ Harlem Globetrotters

Gary and I saw the Harlem Globetrotters last night. every time they were in town, we weren’t able to go.  The beginning was pretty neat where it was just tricks, but the actual game was a little to cheesy for us.  I remember seeing them on tv in black and white back in the day where it was more tricks, but it wasn’t quite what we were expecting.  Very kid friendly entertainment and kid friendly humour – we stayed til half time.  They didn’t allow slr’s so this is what I got with my point and shoot.

~ We Stopped Just For This Photo

cow Driving by, we saw the Chik-fil-A cow mascot walking back and forth on the side of the road in front of the Chick-Fil-A, and while it didn’t entice me to “eat more chikin”, I did want to get my picture with him.  So we stopped by and honestly, it was prolly the most exciting thing that happened to him that day -haha

Very Cute!

I so know all the people in the drive through lane were jealous 😉

Check out more of the cows here http://www.chick-fil-a.com/#thecows

~ <3’s Weekend

It’s been a while since Valentine’s Day fell on a weekend, but what a lovely weekend it has been. While I don’t think Valentine’s day is a major holiday and kind of unnecessary it’s an extra little oomph day of being together with the one you love. Gary is the kind of guy that does stuff for me every day. His thoughtfulness is seen in little things, like bringing me something home from the grocery store, going to get a new movie for me from blockbuster when I don’t want to go out, or even just going downstairs for something for me. But even with all of that, we didn’t exchange cards, candy, or flowers, but he planned a fun day of just being together.

Our Saturday started with breakfast at Dunkin’ Donuts and the purchase of a newspaper. Our Valentine’s day was going to be spent going to open houses and going to yard sales if we happened to see any – which we didn’t . . . it was almost like a mini-vacation when you spend hours in a car together on a car trip making random funny comments and jokes to each other.

We ordered pizza in and watched movies together in the evening, and then went bowling with our friends which was so fun! Sunday we hung out together. He played his online games, I worked, we watched movies, and he made his delicious chili! What a beautiful ending to a fabulous weekend!

~ Mickey on My Car

Ever since I saw someone else with mickey ears on their antenna, I have wanted one.  I kind of forgot about it for a while, but when a friend of mine told me she was going on a Disney Cruise and then spend a few days at Disneyworld, I asked her to get me one if she had a chance.  I found the ones I wanted on Amazon.  So you can get them online if you want, but she was going with a big group, and some of them were cast members, so she was able to get them for not much.  Woo  🙂

~ Thoughts from a Cookie

I found this bit of wisdom in a fortune cookie I broke open a few weeks ago. I think I especially liked this one because everyone at some point wonders the why’s or how’s of the things we do or accomplish in life.

At the end of each day, think
“what has this day brought me, and what have I given it?”

~ Polaroid is Saved!

My friend Adrienne actually sent me this article and we are both very excited!  She was also the one that got me interested in Polaroid a few years ago.  I didn’t know about the older models such as the 680’s, and the SX-70’s

I did want the Polaroid that took sticker pictures, but by the time I was able to get one, they had discontinued that product.

There was news that Polaroid was going to stop making their instant film in December 2008, but there were a lot of websites and groups that popped up such as http://www.savepolaroid.com/

It looks like there is someone that will continue to make the film (see article below/click on the photo for the link)

My favourite line of the article is:
“The project is more than a business plan; it’s a fight against the idea that everything has to die when it doesn’t create turnover,” said Mr Kaps.

this is the 680 Adrienne got me for Christmas last year-ish . . . Love it!

~ Green-us Lizard-us Species-us ;)

Working on layouts for a few upcoming projects and finishing up some older projects.  So for now I’m posting a photo from our trip to the Caribbean, when we were in Honduras . . . Isla Roatan to be exact.  I have some sessions from 2008 I still want to post, so check back soon – I hope to be posting them in the next week or so! So for now, I’ll be posting photos you haven’t seen from 2008.

~ Looking Forward to Beach Weather

A random photo for today . . . just to say that while I enjoyed the snow, and I have enjoyed the warm fires, snugly warm sweaters, hot cocoa, and other things that come with southern winters, I am looking forward to the warmer beach weather, flowing skirts, and summer evenings 🙂
