Happy 4th of July!

What are your plans?
Here is what Wikipedia has to say on Independence Day in the US.

I don’t think we will be doing anything or going anywhere. It’s usually too hot to go see fireworks, but if you are going to see the fireworks and taking some pictures, here are a few tips:

  • Shoot at a low ISO (50 or 100)
  • Use a tripod
  • Try f 5.6 or 8 aperture
  • A slower shutter speed (between 1 and 4 seconds) but not too slow or your fireworks might get washed out

I had some pictures of fireworks I took several years ago with my point and shoot at the time but I might not have saved them since I didn’t have a tripod and had only my knee to rest the camera on, so they were good photos, just a little blurry.

Show me your pictures if you take some!
