In a previous post, I mentioned that I have been playing a game lately . . . and . . .
I LOVE.
Gary and I played Final Fantasy XI for the longest time, but then we got tired of the higher levels, the repetitiveness of crafting, the difficulty finding parties at the higher levels, but I so loved the graphics.
Then we moved on to World of Warcraft (WoW), which I played for a while, but never stuck with it, though Gary has, and mostly plays his capped out character . . . then I wanted to play some game, but didn’t know which one.
I basically started my search for an MMO to play and found a few reviews, videos on youtube, etc. I found AION, which looked interesting, but . . . it wasn’t out yet! uugh . . . it wasn’t scheduled until September, and this was back in maybe March or June? So I renewed my subscription and started playing WoW again for a while, but only to find I wasn’t that into it. I tried a free download of Guild Wars, and wasn’t thrilled with it – didn’t like the way it played – though it was pretty, and we played City of Heroes for a while (my characters), but it got repetitive really fast, So I was MMO-less for a while.
My WONDERFUL husband totally surprised me twice!. (I had totally forgotten about when Aion was going to be released). Both times he surprised me . . . when I went to my car, it was sitting there all neat an’ pretty waiting for me to see, and one of those times was when I was out running an errand. eeee!
The first time with the Beta release, though I had just missed the last open period so I forgot about it again because the game wasn’t going to be out for another several weeks to a month. And the second time he surprised me was (yes) with the actual game. He got me on the day it was out Monday, September 21st, though it wasn’t going to be live til midnight. I was able to install, download updates, and set up my account and started playing on Tuesday the 22nd. Where he saw me playing and I kept telling and showing him all the awesome things it had and that it was so kewl that he promptly went out and got his copy -haha.
SO things I LOVE about this game. It’s all the things I loved about FFXI and WoW, without the repetitiveness. They have channels to switch to if one is busy, the first day we kept getting booted out, but other than that, for a new release it has been pretty seamless . . . I could prolly go on but that would take away from some serious gaming time. So if you are looking for a new MMO, check out AION . . . cuz so far, I Loooooove it.
