We’re Back!

Greece was perfect for our honeymoon and we hope to go back!

Our flight came in to RDU on Friday around 10:00pm and this weekend we spent mostly trying to get over our jet lag. It’s back to work for both of us on monday.

We hope everyone enjoyed our wedding, and were so happy all of you who could join us were able to. We had so much fun!

If you took pictures from the wedding, we’d really love to see them! You can either e-mail them to me or e-mail me a web-link and let me know if you mind if I post some of the pictures on this blog 🙂

Now for all the after wedding stuff to do!

A Few Wedding Details

The wedding is in a week and a half! 10 days!

  • The wedding colours are mostly reds and pinks, with hints of silver and cream.
  • For the ceremony and cocktail hour afterwards, we have a violin, flute, and cello trio in the gardens. During the cocktail hour guests will be able to pick up their place card to find what table they are sitting at once the coctail hour has ended.
  • The reception and dinner held in the ballroom will have red crush table linens and cream sashes on the gold chivari chairs.
  • And don’t forget to look for my bridal portraits and our engagement photos around the house on display.

more later!

Busch Gardens Trip

Busch Gardens Europe was fun!
On Friday, Beth, Adrienne, and I drove up to Virginia, and we picked up Lisa at the Newport News airport. Since Lisa’s flight was delayed and the three of us ate later, we weren’t hungry so just went back to the hotel, and, I got some really cute stuff!

A hat and a white t-shirt that says Bride on it, and a black shirt with batchelorette written in bling (which you can see in the pictures of us at Busch Gardens) and Hershey’s milk chocolate Bars with personalized wrappers:

We spent all of Saturday at Busch Gardens and then crashed at the hotel at the end of the night.

DarKastle Ride, not worth the 1.5/2hr(?) wait

Apollo’s Chariot:

An Anheurser-Busch Clydesdale:

Sunday we went to the Williamsburg Winery for a short tour and tastings.

I got 3 wines. One of which we tasted, the other two we did not. The Raspberry Merlot, the Jamestown Cellars Settlers’ Spiced Wine, and the Virginia Trianon 2002 (one of their Reserve wines)

I am looking forward to having the Raspberry Merlot with cheesecake some evening, and the spiced wine around the holidays when it gets cold again (a merlot-cabernet sauvignon blend that has cloves, cinnamon, nutmeg, and other spices that were added to it). The Trianon is a cabernet-franc, and while I can’t find what notes are in it, I remember fruity and hints of cocoa. We’ll let it age for a bit 🙂

Lake Lure Weekend

The weekend of the 29th and 30th Gary and I went to Lake Lure. An invitation from some friends as a wedding gift.

We stayed at the Lodge on Lake Lure, had dinner on friday evening at Vivi, a 1.8 million dollar house for sale which had a beautiful mountain view.

Saturday we went for a pontoon boat ride in the morning complete with mimosas. Afterward we went to black mountain for a bit of shopping and then a black tie dinner event in the evening.

This was one of the largest houses right on the lake with its own beach and pool:

Sunday morning I woke up at 6:30am to try and get some pictures of the mountain, but it was so grey and cloudy I didn’t get a sunrise. After breakfast we drove back home. Overall a really fun trip 🙂
