Back when we went to Italy in 2004/2005, we only had our 35mm SLR’s and a point-and-shoot digital. So I’m gradually starting to photo-scan the pictures.

A good cause. So far I have 16 lids, but not sure how much yogurt I can eat between now and December 31st!
Breast Cancer Initiative from the website:
Every lid matters, because every lid gets us closer to our goal of giving $1.5 million to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. For every lid we get, we’ll donate 10 cents to the Foundation, up to $1.5 million. And we guarantee to donate at least $500,000.
Working together, one lid at a time, we can get there. So, this is a chance for each of us to take part in the search for a cure. Doing your part couldn’t be easier.
My mom and I went to Atlantic beach for the weekend and stopped in at the newly remodeled North Carolina Aquarium at Pine Knoll Shores. Here are a few pictures I took while we were there:

these are called lookdown fish

baby alligators

this white heron was in the marsh area behind the aquarium

this was the beautiful sunset from the hotel balcony
This weekend, my mom and I went to Atlantic Beach and stayed at the Atlantic Beach Sheraton, which I have liked each time we hae been. They actually have comforable beds and lots of pillows 😎
We went to the new Aquarium that just opened in May, the Beaufort Maratime Museum, Fort Macon, and of course walked on the beach a few times and did a little shopping 🙂

this is part of the statue in front of the aquarium

a cute little otter making a nest with pine straw

a red-eared slider

a snake

these are very cool looking in the blue tank they were in . . . jellyfish

Behind the Aquarium, there was a marsh land/area:
