~ What Happens to a Pardoned Turkey?

So I was talking with a friend of mine the other day about the Sarah Palin / Turkey fiasco, and the question came up “what happens to the pardoned turkey?”

Fabulous question, since neither of us knew, and it’s not as dismal as originally thought.

Check out the White House’s page on past pardoned turkeys:

And MSNBC.com has more info about the turkeys that went to disneyworld/disneyland. They were so overweight that they had to go on a ‘conditioning program’

but I was glad to see the turkeys actually are pardoned.  At least one turkey won’t be on someone’s table for over consumption.

~ Autumn’s Bridal StyLe

I love wedding dresses, and I Love cathedral length veils, so graceful and beautiful.  This past weekend, Autumn and Josh got married with a beautiful church ceremony, and a fun reception after, and while I knew Autumn was going to be an absolutely gorgeous bride, she was even more radiant on her wedding day.  A few of my favourite images from her bridal portrait session taken a few months ago before the cold weather set in 🙂

~ Annie at the Progress Energy Center

annieSince the last post, Gary and I have been seeing our friends for dinners in the evenings.  I went out with the girlfriends at The Big Easy Cajun downtown, and on Friday, Gary’s parents celebrated my birthday early by taking us to dinner at the state club, and then to see Annie at the Progress Energy Center for the Performing Arts.  A fun show, and all the performers did a good job, even when Annie’s curly hair fell off at one point, and the doggie was well trained and very laid back.

I saw that Broadway Series South Present Chicago the Musical will be here in December, and I’m hoping Gary and I will get a chance to see it!

~ Holiday Session at Oak Island, NC

This past weekend I had a session at the beach at Oak Island NC, specifically for this year’s 2008 Holiday Cards for Andrew’s family.  It was pretty windy on the beach, so we had a short and sweet session as we all braved the nippy windy afternoon.

If you are interested in booking a session in time for the holidays and custom holiday cards, send an e-mail to style@sue-leigh.com.  Sessions for holiday cards must be booked before November 23rd!

Andrew likes to go where he wants to go and leads the way . . . here he is with one of his cousinsimg_4401

I absolutely adore this image . . . I love the movement.  Maybe because I know how much Andrew liked to walk towards the water, maybe because how comfortable he was with his surroundings.  This image is full of whimsy and carefree . . .

If you had been there or know Andrew, he doesn’t sit still for a minute, always in motion, always walking, ready to see the next thing . . .

~Tis the Season for Thanks and Giving

Once again, as it does every year, the holidays sneak up and catch you off guard.  I was driving back from a session at the beach, with the radio on and realized – half way through the song, that I was listening to a Christmas tune.  I twittered it, and someone replied that they hear Christmas music when they were in Walmart.

I was also out picking up a few items and saw the gift sets and packaging out and about, ready for the craze.

So, with all this in mind, does anyone have a place they like to shop for gifts?  Suggestions for unique gifts?  Websites you go to to look for something for family or friends?  Do you prefer to give or get a gift or a gift card/money?

more later . . .

~ Unavailable Until November 3rd

It’s a Friday, and I am already “on vacation”  well at least my mind is – and not like other Fridays.  My wonderful husband and I will be relaxing on a Caribbean Cruise for the next week and I will not have internet or phone service.  We leave for Miami bright and early in the morning tomorrow (actually dark at 4am).  We have a packed evening of shopping, picking up suits and pants, last minute things, laundry , packing, etc.

We have been ready for this trip since January of this year and in less than 24 hours we will be starting a fun,  relaxing, and warm! trip.  We’ve booked a few excursions, and I’m sure we will book more once we get on the ship.

All orders that came through have been sent out and should arrive this week.  Any orders placed next week will be processed when I return on Monday November 3rd and I will return your e-mails starting on Monday as well.

Check back later for posts and images from the Caribbean!
Any bets on if I will see Johnny Depp?  Pirates of the . . . ?  ok maybe not : )

~ Sarah Palin at Elon

I’m running off to another shoot in a few, but I thought I would post a few images from the other day.  There were a couple thousand people that showed up at Elon where there was a rally for vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin. (Oh, and if the secret service wasn’t in the way, I would have been able to show you an image of Sarah’s shoes! Dressed an a black skirt suit which is very flattering, with these amazing HOT red heels!) 😀
