Happy Leaf

Yesterday when I left my parents house after dropping them off, I saw this little leaf with a smiley face on it as I was going to my car. It’s just so cute that it made me smile and I had to take a picture of it.

New Tires!

My car was really in need of new tires and today was the day to get them!

They are really nice 80 thousand mile Goodyears.  It’s amazing how awesome new tires feel when you’ve been driving with tires that slip a bit in the rain or take a little longer to break.  They definitely cost more than a plain ole tire, but I’m hoping these will last a while 🙂

My Phone Charm

When I was in Korea my 엄마 (Omma) and 아빠 (Appa) gave me this phone charm.  These are popular in Korea and come in a variety of styles and sizes.  Some are even subway tokens that track money for your fare which I don’t have, but might get the next time I am there, since I rode the  subway a lot when I was in Seoul.

A lot of asian brand phones (like Nokia) have the little holes on the phone body for these, but the iPhone does not.  So I attached it to one of the openings where the headphone jack goes on the case and it has lived there since I got it.

Now I can’t imagine my phone without it! ^^

Korean Rice Noodles Soup

Today I had these rice noodles for breakfast I had found at a local Korean market.  They were pretty good and didn’t have too much in the way of calories.  It wasn’t a spicy as some of the other Korean soups I’ve had, but it was still kimchee flavoured.  You pour hot water in the container and then let it sit for 2-3 minutes (didn’t take long at all).

This is one of those soups that I think would be good as a base and then add veggies to it like mushrooms, sprouts, or even a bit of kimchee too 🙂

Back Home

Made it back home safe.  I’ll leave unpacking for tomorrow ^^
I hung out a bit at Adrienne’s with the hamster she is hamster-sitting for a couple months.

Time to relax a bit before bed . . . starting another week tomorrow.

Goodbye Philadelphia

our hotel room view

We left Philadelphia around noon and tried seeing the Rocky Statue.  A lot of places were setting up for the 4th of July celebrations, and there were a lot of people around the statue.  So we decided food ruled over getting our pictures – but we did drive by it.

One of Adrienne’s friends said we should go to Chickie’s and Pete’s, so we did that on our way out of the city.  We thought it was good, but nothing amazing.

We then drove to Intercourse, PA where we shopped at a couple stores in town and then continued on.  Saw the Amish horse and buggies, pretty farm land, and lots of cows! ^^
