A few days ago, Gary (개리) and I got dinner (처녁) from a Korean restaurant on our way home. I took a picture of the panchan so I thought I’d post it.
In cooking class, we learned that panchan (반찬) are only panchan side dishes if they are served with rice (밥).
We also learned that they should always be in odd numbers. But the king had 12 … Because he was the king and he just could! Haha. He would also taste foods from different areas to see how the crops were doing throughout the day.
