The Ballet

The other night, I took my parents to the ballet, first time going to the performing arts center downtown.

We saw ‘Beauty and the Beast’ and ‘Beethoven’s 9th’; 4 parts.

I liked both performances, but I really liked how well Beethoven’s 9th was performed and choreographed.

Dance Performances

Today we had a dance performance for a local Korean camp. I woke up around 7am to go to rehearsal this morning, but the performances were in the afternoon.

We performed the fairly new ‘Flower Crown Dance’, and the Buchaechum ‘Fan Dance’ which we have performed previously.

I was able to get videos of both, and these are shots from the video, but I am not posting them since this was our first time performing the Flower Crown, so it’s a bit rusty and needs some improvement.

I think this is one of the dances we will be performing it at the International Festival Festival, so it should be polished up by then

Kimchee from Scratch

So yesterday, Gary and I went to a friends’ house for a cooking/eating party. She made bulkogi, ribs, a cabbage and dwenjang jiggae type soup, and a spicy pasta dish, and she showed me how she makes her version of kimchee. It’s a fairly long process but home made is definitely better, and you can definitely taste a difference.

Excallibur Car

Last weekend when my mom and I were out, we saw this neat car called an Excallibur. My mom was looking at it closely, and it spoke! It said, “you are too close to the car. please step away . . . thank you” -lol

Greenhouse Seeds Day 3

Day 3, and my seeds are growing away! I think they are maybe half an inch taller today. Every morning I look forward to seeing how much more they will have grown. ^^

Mini Greenhouse Seed Planting

When I was younger, I remember my mom and I planting seeds and it was fun, though I remember not all of the seeds sprouted.

A few weeks ago, I landscaped the front yard and added a stone wall with some plants, and decided I would plant a few seeds just for fun. Mostly to see something grow from nothing. (no mom, please don’t give me any seeds -lol)

This past weekend, I bought a greenhouse tray ($5) with peat pellets that you add water to and they expand. I like them because they are fast, easy, and fairly mess free, and a few packs of different kinds of seeds (20 cents each).

I planted them yesterday, and the lettuce seeds are growing already! After ONE day!
Hopefully all the other seeds will start sprouting also.

Chocolate Lindt Bunny

Yesterday, my friend Ritu gave me a chocolate Lindt bunny … I thought it would be cute in the clover . . . it’s too cute to eat! (but I will) ^_~

Flower Boxes

The flower boxes I planted in October here needed some of the flowers replaced ~ some died due to the weather so I bought some more more dianthus and more petunias. I also bought two hanging baskets (mainstays 10.25-inch self-watering hanging planter from walmart, around $6) and planted them with some mixed flowers, but I think I want two more, and I got some other mixed flowers and a planter for the bottom of our stairs outside as well.

I also started digging a flower bed . . . I am thinking of a stone retaining wall and mixed flowers. Photos later once I figure out the area. Also, I need to do all this planting soon before it gets too humid because I don’t garden then ~ plant watering only -haha

Today we went to my parents house for brunch, which consisted of waffles with fresh fruit on top, and scrambled eggs. The Easter Bunny left me a chocolate bunny and Gary some jelly beans, and some Cadbury eggs for my parents. ^^

Flower Season!

It is flower season! Time to start thinking about what flowers to plant. I like browsing up and down the aisle at Lowes or Home Depot and taking pictures of the flowers and their prices. I use the pics to plan out my flower boxes, but I’m thinking about a flower bed this season, so I needed more plant ideas.
